Golden Globes 2026: Nikki Glaser to make history for a second time as she’s selected once again to host the Golden Globes in 11-year first

Awards season may only just be behind us for 2025 but already Hollywood is looking ahead to next year.

Comedian Nikki Glaser, who this year became the first woman to host the Golden Globes solo – a ceremony she jokingly labelled “Ozempic’s biggest night” – will return as host of the 83rd edition of the show next January.

The announcement came overnight, with the 40-year-old sharing a photo of herself frocked up in boxing gloves, alongside the caption “round [two]”.

It will mark the first time in 11 years the Golden Globes have used the same host in back-to-back awards shows.

The last was Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who co-hosted in 2013, 2014 and 2015, before Ricky Gervais made a brief return to hosting duties in 2016.

The female comedy duo later returned as hosts for a fourth time in 2021.

“Hosting the Golden Globes this year was without a doubt the most fun I have ever had in my career,” Glaser said in a statement from Dick Clark Productions, the producer of the award show.

“I can’t wait to do it again, and this time in front of the team from The White Lotus who will finally recognise my talent and cast me in Season Four as a Scandinavian Pilates instructor with a shadowy past.”

This year’s Golden Globes, in which the top awards went to the films The Brutalist and Emilia Pérez and the TV series Shōgun and Hacks, drew 9.3 million viewers, according to Nielsen – a two per cent dip from the year prior.

“Nikki Glaser brought a refreshing spark and fearless wit to the Golden Globes stage this year,” said Globes President Helen Hoehne.

“Her sharp humour, and bold presence set the tone for an unforgettable night, making the ceremony feel vibrant and most of all fun.”

A date for the 2026 ceremony is still to be announced but like this year’s broadcast, they will air live in the US on CBS and stream globally on Paramount+.
