Cosmetic surgery implementation resources released

Cosmetic surgery implementation resources released

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) has made available new resources to support implementation of the Cosmetic Surgery Standards and the Cosmetic Surgery Module.

Details are provided in the resources about the accreditation process and requirements for services seeking accreditation to the Cosmetic Surgery Standards in full and services seeking accreditation to the NSQHS Standards and the Cosmetic Surgery Module.

The Cosmetic Surgery Module is designed for services that are already accredited to the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, while the Cosmetic Surgery Standards may be implemented and assessed as a standalone set of standards.

Accreditation to the Cosmetic Surgery Standards or Module will give the community confidence that any service performing cosmetic surgery meets the expected standard of care, the Commission stated.

Monitoring tools are also now available to support services to track their progress in meeting the requirements of the standards.

You can access the resources here, via the Commission’s website.
