DISNEY DROPS NEW ‘LILO & STITCH’ MOVIE TRAILER

Disney is about to do it again with another box office smash hit! The entertainment giant just dropped the new movie trailer for Lilo & Stitch and kids are going to be excited!

This eagerly-anticipated live-action reboot of the 2002 animated classic features an entirely new cast telling the beloved story of a fugitive alien, Stitch, finding a family in Hawaii.

The upcoming movie will star big screen newcomer, Maia Kealoha in the role of Lilo, as well as Sydney Agudong as her older sister Nani.

Also starring in the film are: Billy Magnussen, Hannah Waddingham, Courtney B. Vance, Zach Galifianakis and Kaipo Dudoit, as well as Chris Sanders, Tia Carrere, Amy Hill and Jason Scott Lee, who were also in the original animated feature.

So just what can fans of the original animated project expect from this “re-imagined” version? Check out a brief synopsis of the action below as per Variety.

In the extended look at the live-action reboot, a lonely Hawaiian girl named Lilo is longing for a best friend. After she sees a glowing comet blast across the night sky, she makes a wish and then finds herself face-to-face with Stitch, a dog-like alien experiment whose raison d’etre is creating destruction.

Like the original 2002 animated film, “Lilo & Stitch” follows a young orphan who is being raised by her teenaged sister, Nani. Lilo develops a close bond with Stitch (née Experiment 626) through the Hawaiian concept of “ohana,” which means family — and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.

Although Lilo thinks that she and Stitch have it all “under control,” everyone will find out that the visitor for another world cannot stay away from reeking havoc on the island.

Lilo & Stitch is directed by Dean Fleischer Camp (A24’s “Marcel the Shell With Shoes On”). Set your reminders as Lilo & Stitch will come crashing into theaters on May 23.
