In a push for tech, digital transformation, Wipro will realign global business lines

IT major Wipro has announced realignment within its global business lines (GBLs) to deepen alignment with clients’ evolving business needs and capitalise on emerging technology opportunities driven by AI, cloud, and digital transformation.

The company said that since its clients are increasingly seeking integrated, outcome-driven solutions that enhance agility and innovation, Wipro will realign its GBLs to better meet these needs.

“This evolution of our business lines will enable us to further sharpen our focus towards client needs with consulting-led and AI-powered solutions,” said Srini Pallia, CEO & MD, Wipro Limited. This realignment will allow us to serve our clients better, enabling us to deliver tailored, high-impact transformation,” he added.

These changes will come into effect from April 1, 2025.

Four GBLs

Wipro will continue to operate with four GBLs, organised around client-buying behaviour. Led by Nagendra Bandaru, the technology services GBL will deliver cloud-enabled and industry-specific technology solutions. It will focus on digital and industry cloud, cyber security and risk services, cloud and infrastructure services, data, analytics and AI, enterprise applications, and Designit.

Led by the newly-appointed Jasjit Singh Kang, the business process services GBL will focus on digital operations and business process transformation. Kang will report directly to Pallia and join the Wipro Executive Board.

The consulting services GBL, under the guidance of Amit Kumar, will provide strategic advisory and transformation services. The engineering GBL, with Srikumar Rao at the helm, will continue to provide engineering and R&D services.

The company informed no changes to Capco, which will continue to be led by Anne-Marie Rowland.

Exits from company

The company also updated the Senior Management Personnel in a regulatory filing on BSE.

On the other hand, Jo Debecker, who led Wipro FullStride Cloud, decided to pursue opportunities outside Wipro. Upon submitting his resignation letter on Thursday, he will cease to act as Managing Partner and Global Head – Wipro FullStride Cloud.

Following former CEO Thierry Delaporte’s departure from the company, Wipro saw several top-level exits in FY25. In May 2024, Anis Chenchah, President-Asia Pacific, India, Middle East and Africa (APMEA), and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Amit Choudhary, quit the company. This was followed by Subha Tatavarti resigning as the CTO to pursue opportunities outside the company.

In November, Pierre Bruno stepped down from his position as the CEO of Wipro’s Europe Strategic Market Unit. Laura Langdon, the company’s former Global Chief Marketing Officer, quit the company in December.

The company’s shares closed at ₹264.20 on BSE, down by 1.56 per cent on Friday.
