In the latest The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, Kyle Richards opened up about the viral paparazzi photos of her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky, which showed him kissing a woman at an airport in Greece. This moment, caught by the lens of the paparazzi, has become a pivotal point in their relationship, and Kyle shared an emotional and candid conversation she had with Mauricio regarding the controversy.

Kyle Richards explained the awkwardness of the situation on Bravo’s after show, revealing how she had expected the moment to be unspoken between them. “I didn’t want to put him on the spot, but he clearly knew that that was the elephant in the room, the unspoken thing that was going on,” she said. But to her surprise, Mauricio addressed the topic head-on. “When he brought it up, I was actually really surprised,” Kyle Richards confessed. “He actually said out loud [off camera], ‘I’m not gonna talk about, you know, what I know you probably want me to talk about. I’m not doing that.’ And then all of a sudden he, like, paused and … he started talking about it.”
Despite the undeniable awkwardness of the moment, Kyle Richards didn’t blame Mauricio for the photos. She emphasized that she knew he had no intention of making the situation worse: “I know he did not mean for that to happen. I know he was not aware that that was happening. That’s clear to me. He would not do that intentionally.”

However, Kyle remained cautious about speculating whether the woman in the photo had intentionally tipped off photographers. “I mean, I have no idea. I don’t want to speak about someone that I don’t even know,” she said. “I know that Mau definitely did not know that photo was being taken. I know that. I can’t speak for anyone else… I mean, in looking at it, it looks a little suspect. But that’s all I’m gonna say.”
In their conversation during RHOBH Episode 15, Mauricio also apologized to Kyle for the incident. “You know that I would never want to do anything on purpose that would hurt you or the kids,” he said sincerely. “I really am sorry for hurting you. I would never want to hurt you on purpose.” Kyle, in turn, reassured him, saying, “I know that you would never do that on purpose… But we are separated, and we’re allowed to do what we want in this time. It’s just strange.”
The photos were a wake-up call for Kyle, who reflected on how they marked a significant turning point in their separation. In a confessional, she admitted, “The photos really did say to me he’s moving on. You can live in this la-la land for as long as you want, but that was a hammer on the head saying, ‘Hello, Kyle, he’s moved on. It’s OK. You’re both entitled to live your lives.’ … But in seeing these photos, I think it makes it pretty clear that this is permanent, and I don’t think it’s going to be easy to come back from that.”
The episode ended on an emotional note, with Kyle hugging Mauricio as tears streamed down her face, marking the end of an era in their complicated relationship.
